Demystifying Local Governance: A Case Study in Howard County, Maryland

When we think of government action, we often picture national policies and federal initiatives. However, real change often begins at the local level.

Local governments, due to their proximity to communities, have the ability to tailor policies to fit the specific needs of their residents. My research explores how transparency, civic engagement, and accountability contribute to effective local governance and how this, in turn, impacts urban justice.
